There is a dawn that follows every darkness,
hope that follows every despair,
a beginning that follows every ending.

Your Divine Valentine
- A Valentine may play a love song for you, but God sings you the sweetest love song in the universe. "The Lord your God... will rejoice over you with gladness, He will keep you quiet with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17
- A Valentine may give you flowers, but God sent you the most beautiful rose of all, Jesus. "I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys." Song of Solomon 2:1
- A Valentine may take you out to dinner, but God has invited you to the most amazing feast ever given. "Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!" Rev. 19:9
- A Valentine may bring you chocolate, but God provides you with something even sweeter, His Word. "How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!" Psalm 119:103
- A Valentine may be far away, but God is always with you. "I am with you always." Matthew 28:20
- A Valentine may give you something, but God has given you everything. "God gives us richly all things to enjoy." 1 Timothy 6:17
- A Valentine may love you for a lifetime, but God loved you before you were born and will love you for all eternity! "Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love... with loving-kindness I have drawn you." Jeremiah 31:3

HAPPINESS
Simply seek happiness, and you are not likely to find it. Seek to create and love without regard to your happiness, and you will likely be happy much of the time. M. Scott Peck

TRUE LOVE
If you love something, set it free.
If it comes back, it was, and always will be yours.
If it never returns, it was never yours to begin with.

If it just sits in your living room,
messes up your stuff,
eats your food,
uses your telephone,
takes your money,
and never behaves as if you actually set it free in the first place,
you either married it or birthed it.

"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God." 1John 4:7 (ESV)
I Love You Too
Some people feel that responding to an "I love you" with "I love you too" is a meaningless gesture because it was prompted by the other person. Actually, the social function that is served is mirroring. It is a bonding exercise. When you smile at someone and they smile back, you feel connected. When someone grimaces and you do too, you feel connected. You laugh; they laugh. Mirroring connects us.
Of course it is not good to be insincere. Nor is it good to manipulate others by what we say to them. But to not reciprocate feels awkward and gives the person who expressed their love a feeling of disconnect. When someone reaches out and the other does not reach back, uncertainty ensues. In mirroring, the words may not need to be the same as long as the affect matches.
A similar dynamic occurs when someone reaches out with gratitude but the other person minimizes. "Oh, it was nothing" is a disconnect, while "Thank you for saying that" connects.
Mirroring also occurs in body language as people dynamically respond to each other. When in a position to observe others' behavior, you can see how mirroring amplifies positive connections while a lack of mirroring disconnects people from each other.

Did you heard about the nine-year-old whose sister was just starting school. He gave her some advice. "Don't ever learn to spell 'Cat,'" he warned. "Once you do that, they just keep on giving you harder words."

In the PEANUTS cartoon, the team "statistician" brings Charlie Brown, the manager, his report. "I've compiled the statistics on our baseball team for last season," Linus says. "In 12 games we ALMOST scored a run and in 9 games the other team ALMOST didn't score before the first out. In right field, Lucy ALMOST caught 3 balls and once ALMOST made the right play."
"We led the league," he concludes, "in 'almosts,' Charlie Brown."
